Residence Area Coordinators

Residence Area Coordinators are professional staff members who manage the daily operations of the residence facilities. They are responsible for coordinating information, resources, and the distribution of services to students. Major responsibilities include the development and implementation of programs, staff supervision, and facility management.

Residence Directors

Residence Directors are the staff members who supervise Resident Assistants, Community Facilitators, and Community Mentors and assist in the program management of the residence facilities. Residence and Hall Directors are chosen for their interest in students and experience in residential living. They are also graduate students enrolled at OSU. Their major responsibilities include program development, advising student and government groups, and supervising and training other staff members.

Resident Assistants/Community & Facilitators/Community Facilitators

Each community of every residence facility has a Resident Assistant (RA), Community Facilitator (CF), or Community Facilitator (CM). RAs are in Bennett, Drummond, Kerr, Parker, Stout, and Wentz Halls; CFs are in Allen, Booker, Bost, Davis, Jones, Kamm, Patchin, Peterson-Friend, Morsani-Smith, Sitlington, Stinchcomb, Young, and Zink Halls), and CMs are in the Village Suites.

These student staff members are responsible for advising and helping the residents who live in the community. They are generally undergraduates who have received special training in all aspects of residential living with the experience and know-how to answer your questions or help you find the answers. They act as facilitators to the local government and are available to discuss academic and social problems with individual students. Get to know your student staff members. Programming Assistants

Programming Assistants are student staff members who work with the Resident Assistant and/or Community Facilitator to create an environment conducive to academics. He or she also builds relationships with hall government and Faculty Associates, builds community relationships, creates involvement and ownership, and encourages campus involvement.

Desk Clerks

The desk serves as an information and communication center for residents. The desks are staffed by student Desk Clerks who can help you with lost keys, maintenance repairs, refunds, mail and packages, finding a staff member, and reporting emergencies.
