Please note that many of the roads to Stillwater are portions tolls, and exact change (quarters) is required for several. When you are close to campus, signs and volunteers will direct you to the Kerr-Drummond Mezzanine for conference check-in. Parking instructions will be given to your delegation at check-in. Please bring vehicle information (license plate number, make, model, year, color, and contact information of person responsible) for each vehicle you are parking with you to check-in. Parking is free for the duration of the conference. Traveling by Air and NACURH Shuttle Service Stillwater is accessible via commercial flights arriving in Tulsa International Airport (77 miles away from campus) and Will Rogers World Airport (Oklahoma City; 75 miles). NACURH '08 will operate a shuttle service from both airports to campus from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on May 15 and May 16. Individual accommodations outside these scheduled shuttle times are typically not possible, so please plan your arrival schedule accordingly. This is an opt-in service that your delegation must register for. There will likely not be room on the shuttles for delegations that arrive without having registered for shuttle service. Delegations who have signed up for shuttle service are advised of the following process once they arrive at the airport: 1. Deplane at Tulsa International Airport or Will Rogers World Airport. Collect your group and head to baggage claim. a. You don't need to run, but please don't delay excessively. Other delegations may be boarded on to the shuttle waiting for you to leave. b. Please call 405-744-4755 if your flight information changes during the day so shuttle schedules can be changed accordingly. You may have to call more than once. This phone will not be staffed late at night. 2. All delegates pick up bags and collect together as a group. 3. One responsible person (NCC, Advisor, RHA/NRHH president) must proceed to NACURH08 shuttle check-in. Please only send one representative to check your delegation in for shuttle service. The rest of the group should remain together and be prepared for immediate boarding. Volunteers will be available to point you to: a. At Tulsa International Airport, this is in the lobby near the rental car counters. This can be accessed via the skybridges between baggage claim carousels 3 and 4. b. At Will Rogers World Airport, this is near baggage claim 6. 4. Staff will advise you the wait for your shuttle. You are free to use the time in the airport between your arrival and your scheduled bus departure. NACURH will provide assorted games and light entertainment. Please note that we will be outside the security checkpoint and access to food, gifts and other amenities will be limited. 5. Please assemble your entire delegation and report to the boarding location indicated to you at the shuttle check-in desk 10 minutes prior to your assigned boarding time. 6. The one-way shuttle trip between each airport and the OSU campus is about 90 minutes. The shuttle will drop you off at the Kerr-Drummond Mezzanine for conference check-in. Bring your departure flight information to check-in; sign-up for return shuttle service will happen at this time. Baggage Policy Changes Several air carriers have made changes to their checked baggage policies in the last several weeks: AirTran Airways has announced a new checked baggage policy effective May 15, 2008. - Customers may check one bag for free and a second bag for a $10 USD fee if paid through AirTran Airways' Online Check-in or $20 if paid at the airport, then $50 USD per bag thereafter. American Airlines has announced a new checked baggage policy effective for tickets purchased on or after May 12 for travel on or after May 12, 2008. - This policy applies for travel within the U.S. the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Canada. - Customers may check one bag for free and a second bag for a $25 USD fee ($50 USD round-trip). Delta has announced a new checked baggage policy for domestic tickets traveling on or after May 1, 2008. - This policy applies to domestic travel. - Customers may check one bag for free and a second bag for a $25 USD fee ($50 USD round-trip). For customers checking in three or more bags, the carrier will assess a fee of $100 per bag each-way. U.S. Airport Security Elevated The U.S. threat level is High, or Orange, for all domestic and international flights. Due to the elevated air travel alerts issued by the Department of Homeland Security, there are a number of changes to the regular screening procedures at airports around the country. These polices apply to ALL domestic and international flights originating in the United States. - Travelers should allow extra time at the airport, due to possible delays and new security procedures. - We recommend checking the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Web site for the most up-to-date information including: * changes in security procedures. * security checkpoint wait times. (Note: actual wait time may vary depending on factors including weather delays) * list of permitted and prohibited carry-on items. - Click Here for airline phone numbers. - Remember also 3-1-1 for your carry-ons: Frontier Airlines Files Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Frontier Airlines (F9) announced that that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on April 10. Airlines operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection continue operations as usual as they attempt to reorganize. The bankruptcy filing by the airline should not have a major impact on their day-to-day flight operations. The carrier announced that they will be honoring all tickets, refunds, and exchanges; they will be processed as normal as they were processed before the filing. New Passport Requirements As part of U.S. Department of State's Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, all travelers (including newborns and infants) will be required to present a valid passport or other accepted document(s) to enter or re-enter the U.S. (visitors and U.S. residents) as early as January 23, 2007, from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda. - January 23, 2007: All persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda will be required to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS card, or U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Document (MMDs). - January 31, 2008: All persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda by land or sea (including ferries), will be required to present a government issued photo ID (i.e. driver's license) or other documents as determined by the Department of Homeland Security and proof of citizenship (i.e. birth certificate). - The government will implement the full requirements of the WHTI initiative at a later date (to be determined). At that time, all persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda by land or sea (including ferries), will be required to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS card, or U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Document (MMDs).
